It would depend on what you are planning to do, there are some easy walks/hikes you could do on your own.

Did you feel safe on the trails or were you constantly concerned about grizzly bears? As far as distance goes, we'd just be doing day hikes say 4-6 hours long. Thanks for the input.

I'm a worrier so yes I worried about grizzly bears but I still hiked. I flew over the park and saw Dal sheep but no grizzly bears so I think they are probably far back in the park. If I was doing day hikes I wouldn't worry too much---at the same time I'd still sing out occasionally if I was somewhere where I couldn't see too far around me. I would take bear spray. My girlfriend lives in Whitehorse and grizzlies walk through her back yard and she still lets her kids camp in the tent with the bear spray I gave her. (In Chicken, Alaska I got the most amazing grizzly fridge magnet. The arms and legs are on tiny springs so it shakes menacingly each time you close the fridge. Makes me laugh)

There are a number of tour companies that are based in Whitehorse that travel to Haines Junction and to Kluane National Park. I'd suggest contacting the Yukon Visitor Information Centre in Whitehorse at 800-661-0494. Tell them what you'd like to do and get their suggestions. You may not want to drive to the park anyway, as you really can't drive into it. The best options to seeing the interior of the park are flight seeing (airplane), rafting, and hiking. I stayed at the Pioneer RV Park about 3 miles south of Whitehorse. They have several tours and may have additional suggestions. Pioneer RV Park can be reached at 867-668-5944.
