Hi everyone, I am currently staying near Khao Lak and was wondering if i should do a day trip to the similan islands? My main interest is snorkeling and I have already been to a few places with nice sea life (eg Koh Phi Phi, Koh Tao) in the last two weeks plus numerous trips in the past (eg Indonesia, Red sea). As I only have a few days left and have heard very differing opinions about the islands regarding snorkeling I just wanted to ask if they really offer a special opportunity compared to the other mentioned spots and if this opportunity is worth the struggle getting there. Very clear to a good depth, plenty of sea life diversity . I’ve done many snorkelling sites and this was up there with them
