A 4-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital after he reportedly shot himself in south Sacramento on Friday afternoon, police say.

A 4-year-old boy who shot himself Friday at a shopping center in the Valley Hi / North Laguna neighborhood is in stable condition, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Officers were called just after 1:45 p.m. to the 4500 block of Mack Road for reports of a boy shooting himself, said Officer Anthony Gamble, a Police Department spokesman.
