What exactly does the spec “PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (x4)” mean?
2020年12月25日 · 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 Safeslots (x16, x8/x8) 1 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slot (x4) I understand the first bullet point, but it's the latter line that is confusing me. Why does it say x16 and also x4? Other Asus pages also use the terminology x4 mode. So which is it, x16 or x4? My web research showed unclear results, but you're the brilliant one. Thanks.

2015年2月1日 · There is no name on the motherboard other than Lenovo, it is an internal cheap motherboard without any specs. Neither the manual nor the website, nor the sales know anything about which PCI Express version this slot is, 2.0 or 3.0. Device Manager also does not say what version. I have to know, whether this thing is PCI Express 2.0 or 3.0.

The setup is 1 month old , until 3 days ago I used it with the integrated graphics Vega 11 and the ASRock B450m-HDV mobo and it ran perfectly.

2014年6月6日 · Not true. You can actually use a PCIe x1 (or x4 or x8) card in a x16 slot. While not applicable in this particular case (what with the mini-ITX board and all that), just keep in mind that if you're currently using any other x16 slots, plugging a x1 device into a second x16 slot will take some of its PCIe lanes away.
