The ALCO PA was a family of A1A-A1A diesel locomotives built to haul passenger trains. The locomotives were built in Schenectady, New York, in the United States, by a partnership of the American Locomotive Company (ALCO) and General Electric (GE) between June, 1946 and December, 1953.

2024年8月23日 · Today, Doyle McCormack has successful restored former Santa Fe PA-1 #62-L into Nickel Plate Road #190. The locomotive he lovingly brought back to life has since been sold (March, 2023) to Genesee Valley Transportation of Pennsylvania, which plans to use the locomotive in excursion service.

Obtained from the Santa Fe in December of 1967 and painted in a blue version of the Santa Fe’s "Warbonnet" scheme, the four famous ALCo PA-1s were used to upgrade the power on passenger trains between Albany and Montreal. The D&H owned a fifth PA, the ex-New Haven #0783, which was used for spare parts.

The locomotive is in need of extensive repairs as a result of a 1981 derailment while in service in Mexico. Work will include repair and replacement of the underlying carbody truss work.
