If you look at the cars that are being sold at Carmax you will see that the vast majority are at least $1000 less than what Kelly says they should be selling for. So if you're getting $1000 less for your trade-in but also getting your new car for $1000 less than what KBB says, it is a wash.

On the dealer's side, they offer CPO cars as part of the deal, while with CARMAX if you want any kind of extended warranty, you'll have to pay extra. I think choosing between dealer and CARMAX also depends on the type of car you want. The new car dealer is likely to have a much deeper inventory of the brand of car you're looking for.

Since the Carmax "guaranteed price" is auction value or less, I would assume any new or used car dealer would give you that for your car if it was something they thought they could sell on their lot. I did that once when I wanted to get rid of a car quick (convertible in winter).

2024年12月12日 · About a year ago I started getting my first trouble codes involving the TPS. (P2101, P2176, P1515). I don't remember if it was one or all of those codes at the time but I tried cleaning the carbon in the throat as people said it can prevent the blade from opening/ closing. Didn't help. I bought a new throttle body so together. Helped for a while.
