2005年9月17日 · An El Camino problem from the past was that El Caminos came with air shocks. Guys would buy large tires that wouldn't clear the wheel opening, then they would pump up the air shocks to gain clearance. Jacking up the rear of an El Camino or any other muscle era car totally screwed up any chance of a good launch.

I think gm / chev just except the fact that a new el camino may sell well in the first 2 years then struggle, and get discounted/discontinued like so many niche cars of the past. Its all about SUVs and pickups.

My intention is to replicate it, drive it for a couple of years, then donate it to the US Air Force Museum ay Wright Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton Ohio. Any help locating an original or suitable donor car for modifications would be GREATLY appreciated!

He mentioned the 13580 L-6 El Camino but there is also a 13380 and 13480 (L-6 and V8) base model El Camino as well but the 396 couldn't be ordered on the base El Camino to my knowledge. FWIW, my 67 SB Custom Elky has "Malibu" script on the inside trim above the glove box but I can't say for sure if that's ever been changed - wouldn't think so.

I have a trailer Queen one owner 70 SS 454 M-22 Camino. I want to tow the Camino on my open trailer to a BIG show sometime with my " Very Detailed " 70 SS 454 Red Station Wagon.
