It is assumed that the oil pressure switch did not turn off the Aux Lub Oil pump when the turbine came up to speed and the mechanical oil pump increased the oil pressure.

2005年7月28日 · We used a highly refined white mineral oil with no additives. We bought from Amoco in Whiting Indiana, but Chevron, Maverik, Petro-Canada and others refine it. We made 3600rpm motors up to about 3600V, we used very low viscosity. As I recall it was 6-8cSt or so. We also used a pure POA base oil for higher temps, it was about 2-4cSt.

My experience with this is based on AC oil filled motors used in oil fields for submersible pumps. The oil will create a dielectric but this should have no affect because the brushes are contacted each time it rotates.
