Unsolicited Windrider 17 owner report - Sailing Catamarans
There was some mention of the WindRider 17, and I thought I would send my comments along. I have sailed and raced keelboats from a very early age. I never sailed on a multihull until a few years ago - a Hobie 18. What a rush! I like to ride motorcycles, and it struck me that multihulls were like that - fast and responsive.
Boat Review: WindRider 17 - Sailing Breezes
The WindRider 17 is rotomolded polyethelene which keeps the price down. All structural reinforcements are anodized aircraft aluminum. This allows the boat to be light and reasonably stiff. The amas telescope in and out with no disassembly. The nets are large, bolt roped to the hull and support optional stiff-backed seats.

2015年8月11日 · I do not think it is the next generation of the Windrider 17. The picture of the yellow colored hull boat foiling posted is the original Rave. The Rave and Rave V are foiling boats whereas the Windrider 17 is a non foiling boat.

2017年2月28日 · The other day I tried out a (non-Hobie) Windrider 17 trimaran. I found it incredibly easy to sail single-handed, with jib sheets, mainsheet, jib furler, rudder pedals all in the rear cockpit. Also, while fast on the water, it seems very resistant to tipping over or pitchpoling.

2020年8月8日 · Hey! I am looking into buying a Windrider 17 and I was wondering if I could ask an owner a few questions. Fit: I am a taller guy (6' 4") and am always concerned about fit. How comfy is rear cockpit? Is it relatively spacious? Setup time: How long does it take you to set up when you launch? I have seen anywhere from 20 min to 40 min.
