We report REELS observation in AES at low voltages of losses (plasmons and inter-band transitions) corresponding to the satellite structures in Ni metal 2p spectra.

Recent collection of high-resolution Ni2p3/2 XPS spec-trum of NiS and NiAs (Legrand et al. 1997; Nesbitt and Reinke 1999) allows detailed comparison with Ni2p metal lines.
