3 天之前 · Bioluminescence is a chemical reaction, usually produced by the combination of luciferin, a compound, and luciferase, an enzyme. It creates a glow within the body of an organism or outside of it in water when the chemicals are ejected. The bioluminescence I’d seen in the Atlantic was caused by dinoflagellates, a phytoplankton.
