2015年9月13日 · I have a 1993 force 40 hp that I recently replaced the water pump in. It would start up and run fine before then but now all it will do is start up and run for a few seconds and then will die. I'm new to boats and I'm not sure what the issue may be.

2010年5月13日 · Motor does not start, starter runs, motor turns, no cigar. I checked the compression and it is 135x135, which is good. I checked fuel supply by disonnecting the fuel line before the fuel pump and gas pored out. I disconnected the gas line afer the fuel pum and gas burst out of the tube (it was under pressure). So I assume that gas gets to carb.

2024年5月10日 · Usually when I first launch it, I don't have the issue and it turns over just fine. It's when I am on the water and try to power up again. What's worked for me as to getting it to work has been unplugging the spark plug caps and replugging them in making sure they are on there good. It seems like messing around with that works.

2019年7月6日 · Start with the primer bulb. Run it till it kills. Go back and check. If it’s flat OR need a lot of squeezes to get full/hard replace. Its a wear part. Might be quick easy fix. Been there with same problem. Especially if it’s a Merc primer bulb. J.

2022年3月3日 · sounds like diafram in fuel pump is bad... there is a manual bulb in the fuel line from tank to engine, most likely. if so, try to keep squeezing that when you start, if you keep squeezing and it keeps running than it's your fuel pump
