The two best gunsmiths for that work are Arts Gunsmithing and MidWest Gunsmiths. Both are located in Missouri and the owners of both were formally factory gunsmiths for Browning.

In 1956 the true "Lightning" was reintroduced in 12- and 20-gauge, and in Grade 1 they have the word "Lightning" in cursive above the word BROWNING on the bottom of the receiver.

The rib looks like the "Non-Crossfire Ventilated Rib" with the milling to make it ventilated not machined all the way through.

2015年9月7日 · I did not write this but it may help you. Google is your friend. There are THREE types of superposed forearm set ups. The common late type used the takedown latch we normally think of. The Lighting models used a latch system to unlock the forearm. The forearm would then slide forward aprox 1/2", then you could remove the barrels from the action.

Both are fine guns but from my experience I think the fit, finish and workmanship has to go to the Browning. New out of the box the Belgium Browning Superposed just locked up tighter and sounded better than a 101 made in Japan.

2023年10月10日 · So, to answer your question - it appears to be a Superposed Superlight model. Whether FN or BrowninG depends on the barrel address (which is indistinguishable to me in the 2nd photo), but my clue is FN’s (12 ga) were only available in 27.5” (70cm) barrel length.
