2024年5月27日 · The flametal shield is slightly lower damage parry than the Carapace buckler and you can still parry all zero star enemies and all the 1 star charred. Even though the parry was slightly weaker I preferred the flametal shield since the basic block was effective when you are getting mobbed and can just time parries.
Flak vs. carapace, which is best or is either worth it?
The only fully carapace armored enemy is the crusher. Mauler wears carapace on head but their body is flak armored. Reapers (ogryns with guns) have carapace on arms and flak on most body but otherwise is considered as unyielding. A lot of regular fodder are also flak armored (traitor guards, bucket-heads)

2023年5月29日 · It's also pretty sure that the carapace armor has more upgrades coming in future updates. We know carapace lvl2 is barely any better than padded armor lvl 4. But that also means carapace lvl 4 is going to be a clear improvement, whenever we finally get it. I would also argue that the materials for the carapace armor are pretty easy to get.

The main point of the Carapace mutation is the base AV bonus, along with the element resists. If you keep it leveled, your carapace will match or surpass most, if not all other body armors you find, with a much smaller DV penalty and no weight.

2022年12月19日 · I’ve gone for the full carapace armor set, using the carapace shield, and mostly using the demolisher and frost staff. I’ve found more success against the seeker using the frost staff and the demolisher is an invaluable tool in the dungeon. I also use the arbalest for the gjall specifically or if I have a sneak shot on a seeker.

RAW, yes, it wouldn’t work I guess, but words have meanings and ignoring them just turns monsters into stat blocks. “Kill it from the inside!” is a classic monster slaying trope, and denying your players the chance to do a clever thing because WELL AKSHUALLY is some bad DMing imo.
