I do put all of Louisiana in the Deep South despite the unique culture in New Orleans and Cajun country.

2014年5月19日 · Don't want to kick off a firestorm of debate that has already been beaten to death, but Arkansas is an Upper South state like Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, and Kentucky. It's not Deep South overall, but like Tennessee and North Carolina, it definitely has areas that could be classified as Deep South.

The only two states that I would consider more or less 'Deep South' in their entireties are Louisiana and Mississippi (with the latter being the most quintessential of such a designation).

I assume that you feel anywhere that had racist laws into the 70's deep south. I don't consider a place deep south because they had racist laws into the 70's.
