2010年3月9日 · Now the thing is that I know I must have gotten masonite cut somewhere before, because my current old workbench (which doesn't have space to mount a woodworking vice, hence the new bench) has a masonite top. And the reason I have to get it cut at the store is because even with a minivan I can't fit an 4x8 sheet in the back.

2002年6月13日 · You do need to cut thru the portrait mounted to the masonite with an exacto blade first and remove the piece before going to work on the masonite. The masonite will score thru just like the plexi and when you are almost all the way thru, you can shave the rest off with a utility knife. That and a wood rasp file to finish up.

2018年1月21日 · Do a web search for "jigsaw puzzle glue sheets". I have some "puzzlers" who Modge Podge their puzzles before bringing them to me. Seems to work quite well. I haven't done that application process myself. Definitely practice any method you are unfamiliar with if it has the potential to ruin a customers property if something goes wrong.

2002年12月6日 · The canvas is often mounted to masonite by the lab using a cold mount type adhesive. Sounds like the masonite was exposed to moisture and warped. Or maybe the canvas has shrunk a bit and is pulling it. Either way, you might just want to counter mount using a cold mount adhesive. Maybe a second thin piece of masonite will work. Good luck!

Sounded like too much to me, so I sat down and did my own figuring and came up with 4 full sheets and part of a 5th. I sent them schematics and they were surprised as well.

2008年12月31日 · If it's a painting use a vacuum press if you have one, with a sponge-foam overlay (like for printguard) to protect the paint strokes from flattening. Cut your masonite to size and roll a thinnish layer of glue over the whole board. Let it dry somewhat, then apply another thin layer. Lay on your canvas and press for a few minutes.

2020年3月10日 · Masonite is $17-$20 per sheet, and I can only get two dividers per 4 x 8. I'm in Alaska, and it's also -7 below this morning, so cutting up masonite panels is really not an option. I thought about this option before I started the project, and rejected it as just being too expensive.
