2024年6月23日 · Steering is VERRRRY tight, tried to use heat and add grease and it still is very tight. I don't have a service manual. I know it's a big job, any tips or procedures to fix the kingpin and bushings?? Going to heat it and hope to wake up the old grease. It's probably 30 years old. The bushings are plastic. Used a hot wrench and loosened it some.

2016年7月5日 · I have a 2006 Johnson 140 hp and the steering is real stiff. I took the cable loose and it is not the problem. The problem is in the yoke and bushings with hardened old grease. With steering cable completely removed I could hardly move the outboard back and forth by hand.
