2024年4月22日 · This is the tomb of Abdul Rahim Khan-I-Khanan, or simply Rahim, the commander-in-chief of Mughal emperor Akbar’s army, one of his Navratnas, and a renowned poet. Rahim had built the tomb in memory of his wife Mah Banu, some 40 years before Emperor Shah Jahan built Agra’s Taj Mahal.
The monumental mausoleum was built by Rahim for his wife making this the firstever Mughal tomb built for a lady. Rahim was himself buried here in AD 1627.

Rahim Khan constructed the tomb on his wife’s death in 1598 and was later buried in it in 1627. Designed in a similar fashion to Humayun’s Tomb, it is made of red sandstone, buff sandstone and marble.
